Meanwhile, its surface is relatively wear-resistant, and when squeezed by furniture or in normal friction with walls, pipes, etc., the insulation layer is not easy to be damaged.
Easy identification and convenient selection: The specification markings are clear and intuitive. Markings like "NYA 1x10mm²" allow construction and procurement personnel to quickly grasp key information such as the number of cores and conductor cross-sectional area, and easily select suitable specifications according to the actual electrical load and application scenarios.
Cost advantage: In Low-voltage wiring scenarios, compared with some wires using special insulation materials or having special protective structures, the NYA wire has a mature manufacturing process and conventional materials, so its cost is easier to control. It can save the wire cost of electrical installation projects while meeting the basic performance requirements of low-voltage wiring.
Narrow working temperature range: PVC material limits its working temperature. Generally, when the working environment temperature is lower than -15℃, the PVC insulation layer tends to become brittle, and bending the wire may cause the insulation layer to crack, destroying the insulation performance. When the temperature is higher than 70℃, PVC will accelerate aging and soften, making the insulation performance deteriorate rapidly, shortening the service life of the wire. So it cannot be used in high-temperature workshops, near high-power heating equipment and other high-temperature areas.
Weak chemical corrosion resistance: PVC and Copper Conductors have poor tolerance to strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, etc. When used in areas of factories with the risk of chemical reagent leakage or in mechanical processing workshops prone to contact with oil pollution, chemical substances are likely to corrode the insulation layer and conductors, causing premature damage, and even triggering safety accidents.
Insufficient mechanical strength: It is a non-armored light wire, and its mechanical protection ability is inferior to cables with an armored layer. If directly buried underground, it is vulnerable to soil extrusion and stone friction. When used outdoors, it is prone to be accelerated aging by ultraviolet rays, eroded by wind, rain, sand, and other natural factors, or damaged by animal bites. Therefore, it is only suitable for indoor or low-voltage wiring scenarios with reliable shelter.
Poor fire resistance: NYA wires with ordinary PVC insulation usually do not have good flame retardancy. They are flammable in case of fire and may produce a large amount of toxic smoke, which is not conducive to personnel evacuation and fire rescue. So it is difficult to use them in important public buildings with strict fire protection level requirements, such as schools, hospitals, and shopping malls.
