PVC Insulated Single-Core Copper Cable 1.5mm² /2.5mm²
PVC insulated single-core copper cable (1.5mm²/2.5mm²) is a widely used basic cable in the field of electrical wiring. With high-purity electrolytic copper as the conductor core and an outer layer coated with anti-aging PVC insulation, it combines excellent conductive performance and insulation protection characteristics. It is suitable for power transmission in medium and low-load circuits such as home decoration, office spaces, and small industrial equipment, and is an important component to ensure safe and stable electricity use.
In terms of specification parameters, the conductor of the 1.5mm² cable is stranded with multiple 0.15mm fine copper wires. The DC resistance at room temperature is ≤12.1Ω/km, and the allowable continuous current-carrying capacity reaches 16A, which is suitable for power supply lines of low-power equipment such as lighting fixtures and small household appliances (like table lamps and electric fans). The 2.5mm² cable adopts a stranded structure of thicker copper wires, with a DC resistance of ≤7.41Ω/km and a current-carrying capacity increased to 25A, which can meet the power demand of medium-power appliances such as air conditioners, electric water heaters, and microwave ovens. Both cables have a rated voltage of 300/500V, which can withstand daily power grid fluctuations. The insulation layer thickness is 0.8mm (1.5mm²) and 0.9mm (2.5mm²) respectively, with an insulation resistance of ≥100MΩ, effectively preventing current leakage and complying with GB/T 5023.3 standard certification.
In terms of performance characteristics, high-purity copper conductors ensure low current transmission loss. The stranded technology endows the cable with good flexibility, with a minimum bending radius of only 4 times the outer diameter, which can easily pass through narrow spaces such as wall trunking and equipment gaps, reducing construction difficulty. The PVC insulation layer has the characteristics of temperature resistance up to 70℃, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and flame retardancy and self-extinguishing (oxygen index ≥28), which can adapt to complex environments such as humidity and dust, and is not prone to cracking and aging after long-term use. In addition, the surface of the cable is printed with clear specification marks, meter scales, and certification information, facilitating quick identification and cutting during construction and reducing the risk of misoperation.
The application scenarios are significantly targeted: 1.5mm² cables are mostly used in lighting circuits and switch control lines in residential buildings and office buildings, such as the power supply lines of living room chandeliers and bedroom downlights. Their slender diameter can be concealed and laid without affecting the beauty of decoration. 2.5mm² cables are widely used in socket circuits, especially in areas such as kitchens and bathrooms that need to connect high-power appliances, such as the wiring of dedicated sockets for refrigerators and washing machines. They can also be used as control lines for small industrial equipment, such as the power connection of assembly line sensors. Both cables support exposed or concealed laying, compatible with various installation methods such as pipe threading and wall embedding, meeting the wiring needs of different scenarios.
In terms of practical design, the cable is packaged in rolls (100m/200m/roll), which can be flexibly cut according to the construction length, reducing the number of joints to lower the risk of failures. The insulation layer comes in various colors (commonly white and black), which is convenient for distinguishing live wires and neutral wires, improving the standardization of circuit layout. Its stable performance and moderate cost make it a cost-effective choice for medium and low-power circuits, ensuring electrical safety and adapting to diversified wiring environments, making it an indispensable basic cable in electrical construction.
